In response to escalating global threats including hybrid warfare and pervasive information manipulation, Pakistan is set to host a landmark parliamentary summit of 45 nations aimed at forging collective action against the challenges of an era where distinguishing fact from fiction has become increasingly difficult.

Special Envoy for the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), Ms. Misbah Khar, revealed on Tuesday that Pakistan will host the inaugural session of the newly established multilateral forum, positioning the nation in a significant global leadership role.

Speaking on Pakistan Television’s morning show ‘World This Morning,’ Ms. Khar explained that the ISC was an initiative conceived in Seoul and spearheaded by the Chairman Senate of Pakistan, who also serves as the conference’s Founding President.

‘We live in an era where it’s often hard to distinguish what’s real from what’s fake,’ she emphasized, underscoring the necessity for such a platform. Ms. Khar identified climate instability and economic fragmentation as other critical issues that demand a united response from the world’s parliaments.

The special envoy elaborated on the forum’s core philosophy, which promotes a vision of global unity. “When you view the Earth from space, you see no borders, no divisions-only one humanity,” she stated. “This vision lies at the heart of the ISC. We stand for one human race, one family, one world.”

The Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference will be held in Islamabad on November 11-12. Its central theme, ‘Peace, Security, and Development,’ aligns closely with Pakistan’s long-standing commitment to promoting international cooperation.

High-level national leadership will be prominently featured, with the Prime Minister of Pakistan scheduled to inaugurate the event and the President of Pakistan hosting an official dinner for the international delegates. The Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, will preside over one of the sessions and host a luncheon.

In a demonstration of national solidarity, Speakers of provincial assemblies and representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir will also participate in the proceedings. ‘While we are bringing the world to Pakistan’s doorstep, we are also uniting Pakistan to host this global event,’ Ms. Khar remarked.

She concluded that by presenting a unified front, Pakistan is delivering a powerful message. ‘Pakistan is sending a clear message to the world-that when it comes to our national cause and global responsibility, we stand together.’
