Commissioner Sukkur Division Abid Saleem Qureshi has ordered the immediate evacuation of the Katcha area in view of the expected flood at Guddu Barrage. A flood torrent of about seven lac cusecs is expected to hit Guddu Barrage in one to two days.
Commissioner Qureshi has directed the concerned authorities to persuade people to relocate with the help of community leaders and religious figures. He stressed that the area at risk should be evacuated before the water level rises, as it will be extremely difficult later.
The Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and other administrative officials to evacuate the low-lying areas. He said that the Sindh government’s top priority is the safety of the people, and the administration must ensure the safety of life and property of the public in every way.
