Head Punjnad Rajanpur Flood Levees Under Pressure, 19 Relief Camps Established, 1 Lakh People Moved to Safe Places

Local authorities in Rajanpur have taken urgent action as river water levels rise alarmingly, with a 900,000 cusec flood expected to pass through the area. The Commissioner DG Khan is reviewing the protective embankments at Head Punjnad in view of the possible flood.

In preparation for the potential disaster, 19 flood relief camps have been set up to provide temporary shelter and essential supplies to those affected. In a major relocation effort, 112,000 residents have been moved to safer locations, while authorities are working tirelessly to mitigate the impact of the expected floodwaters.
