NAUNDERO:Crime rate continues to haunt the residents of Naundero very hard as there seems to be nobody to help them and tackle criminals. Two people were deprived of over one million rupees last night but the influential cops posted here have done nothing to curb the crime and eliminate the notorious robbers.
In the first incident, an aged white beard Hindu shopkeeper Chandu Mal was looted of Rs6.50 lacs and was also severely beaten up with pistol buts in his head by three unknown armed men near Pir Chodial Shah Mazar when he resisted the robbery. He was returning home on a three-wheel motorcycle richingchi after closing his shop late last night. The town was under darkness due to massive electricity load shedding when the incident took place. He was injured, bleeding profusely hence was immediately rushed to the 100-bed Government Hospital here by the neighbourers where duty doctor dressed his wounds due to which his bleeding was stopped. He returned from the hospital at midnight.
In another incident armed men deprived Muhammad Aslam Bhutto, a trader of Larkana of Rs4.32 lac near Bab-e-Zulfiqar but cops were sleeping in their air-conditioned rooms at the police station and did nothing either to chase the criminals or to follow their footprints. Thefts committed from the homes of Shahid Mangi, Nazir Abro, Hidayatullah Abro, Owais Mangrio and other citizens have not so far been recovered costing millions of rupees during the posting of the same police personnel which shows how much powerful they are.
One hearing the sad news of unchecked crime, a large number of residents gathered and enquired about his Hindu trader’s health. SHO Naundero Police Station Shahid Memon when contacted said he is unaware of the crimes but later police came to the hospital and enquired about the details from the Hindu trader and disappeared.
Residents have demanded that Naundero City Patrol incharge be taken to task along with the SHO to find the truth who is involved and who is backing and supporting the criminal gangs. They have further demanded that local cops must also be transferred out of the town immediately as they have learnt tricks of trade as they have become political and enjoy the support of local political leadership. Gambling and drugs dens are openly operating and residents have been left at the mercy of thieves who are enjoying police support and peace has become a distant dream.
