Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Police on Saturday, as part of a welfare initiative, provided a residence worth Rs. 1 crore 75 lakh to the family of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Nazir Ahmed, who was martyred in the line of duty.
ASI Nazir Ahmed lost his life during a police raid in early 2024. He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
In a statement regarding the initiative, IG Dr. Usman Anwar reiterated the department’s commitment to its personnel. He emphasized that the department supports the families of more than 1,700 martyred officers, and said, “The Punjab Police will never forget the eternal sacrifice of its brave son.”
