Husband, wife severely burnt in Hyderabad gas explosion

A man and his wife were severely injured in a powerful gas leak explosion at a house in Al-Shifa Colony of Hyderabad in the Friday morning.

According to rescue sources, the explosion occurred because the gas valve was left open. As a result, 27-year-old Waqas and his 26-year-old wife Anika were burned and injured.

The Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene on information and shifted the injured to Hyderabad Civil Hospital for treatment. It is reported that the explosion was so intense that its sound was heard from a far distance. The explosion also caused one of the house’s walls to collapse.

Rescue sources told the media that the family had forgotten to close the gas valve.

Roshan Chandio, the registrar of the Burns Ward at Civil Hospital Hyderabad said that fire victims Waqas and Anika had both suffered 40% burns on their bodies and were in critical condition.
