A swift operation by SITE police led to the solution of a blind murder case, resulting in the arrest of the accused and the recovery of the murder weapon.
The murder incident occurred near Baihan Mori within the SITE police jurisdiction, where a young man, Shahid Sangrasi, was fatally shot by an unidentified assailant late last night. SITE Police promptly arrived at the scene, found the body, sent it for post-mortem examination, and initiated legal proceedings without delay.
Following investigation, the police tracked down the accused, identified as Muhammad Jabbar, who was found in possession of a pistol used in the murder.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Jabbar, a close associate of the deceased, killed Shahid Sangrasi over a minor dispute. The suspect reportedly fired a shot at the victim’s head before fleeing the scene.
The police have registered the case under FIR No 205/2024 under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code on behalf of the state. Further investigations was underway, the police said.
