Islamabad: At the Digital Pakistan session at Davos, Arsen Tomsky, Founder and CEO of inDrive, discussed Pakistan's digital economy, its growth potential, and the steps needed to support the country's transition toward an inclusive digital economy through fair choice.

According to InDrive, the session brought together a distinguished panel of speakers, including Maria Basso, Head of AI Applications and Impact at the World Economic Forum; Khalifa AlShamsi, CEO, eand life; Zarrar Sehgal, Chairman, Pathfinder Group; and Muhammad Salman Ali, CEO, VRG. Tomsky positioned Pakistan as a priority market within inDrive's global mission to challenge injustice, citing the country's young population, entrepreneurial culture, and resilience.

Highlighting the country's uneven progress toward a digital economy, Tomsky noted the significance of ride-hailing in Pakistan's digitization. Since entering the market in 2021, inDrive has become the leading ride-hailing app in the country, active in over 20 cities for urban rides and more than 200 cities for intercity travel. He discussed inDrive's expansion into a Super App ecosystem, including grocery delivery, freight, and fintech services, aiming to offer multiple earning streams while keeping commissions low.

During the discussion, Tomsky referenced findings from a recent Oxford Economics study, noting the importance of fare negotiation in price-sensitive markets like Pakistan. He highlighted that flexible pricing allowed riders and drivers to complete more trips, keeping fares affordable. Concluding the session, Tomsky emphasized the value of fairness-driven design for long-term digital adoption, expressing optimism for inDrive's role in fostering Pakistan's digital future.
