Spokesperson for the Sindh government, Ghanwar Khan Isran, today strongly criticized Jamaat-e-Islami, accusing them of creating the term “municipal emergency” to create unrest among the people and questioned its legal status and significance within the global legal framework.
Isran challenged Jamaat-e-Islami to clarify any legal or constitutional precedent for this term, arguing that emergencies are generally enforced during extraordinary circumstances such as natural disasters, wars, or pandemics. The spokesperson emphasized that Karachi’s municipal challenges need real solutions instead of political statements or creative terms.
He further alleged that Jamaat-e-Islami is using these tactics to gain media attention and should focus on solving the issues of their constituencies. Isran pointed out that the Sindh government is actively engaged in development projects to solve Karachi’s problems and invited the opposition party to participate in constructive politics.
Isran’s criticism also included Jamaat-e-Islami’s routine press conferences, as he suggested that their efforts should be towards practical service rather than provocative statements. The spokesperson finally advised the party to engage in responsible political discourse instead of misleading the public with baseless terms.
