LARKANA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sindh General Secretary Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro Saturday strongly condemned the police torture on women employees and doctors of the health department in Karachi and said that the legitimate demands of the doctors and paramedical staff should be accepted. In a statement, he said that the police torture on the women employees who were peacefully protesting was a condemnable act. He said that Sindh police was making the women of Sindh a target of torture and humiliation.
Soomro said that such practice was contrary to the democratic spirit and norms. He said that the legitimate demands of the doctors, paramedical staff should be accepted, adding the Sindh government and the police should adopt a legitimate method to solve the problems instead of committing criminal violence. Steps should be taken to improve the law and order situation in the province, Soomro concluded.
