Karachi’s traders, industrialists, builders are victims of ‘system’s’ tyranny, MQMPakistan

The Muttahida Qaumi MovementPakistan (MQMP) has declared the Sindh government a failure, citing an appeal by Karachi’s traders, industrialists, and builders for direct intervention from the Army Chief against an extortion network affecting the city’s commercial sector.

In a statement on Thursday, the political party asserted that the city’s business community has become a victim of the “system’s oppression” and challenged proponents of development to reveal under whose patronage extortionist gangs are openly operating against local traders.

Expressing solidarity, MQMPakistan announced its full support for the demands presented to the Army Chief and the Prime Minister by trade and industry leaders and pledged to provide all possible assistance to the affected parties.

The party’s central committee members also formally expressed grave concern over the rising incidents of extortion and the persistent harassment faced by traders across the metropolitan area.
