Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar today contacted the DIG Hyderabad by telephone regarding the killing of a woman in Jamshoro in the name of Karo-Kari.
According to an official report today, the Sindh Home Minister directed the authorities to arrest the accused immediately and take strict action against them in accordance with the law.
He also instructed that the affected family be provided with complete protection and all possible security. The Home Minister said the investigation should be conducted on merit, with complete transparency, and on the basis of all available evidence.
The home minister further directed that no accused person or facilitator be allowed to evade the law and that everyone involved be brought to justice. The investigation process should be pursued effectively to ensure the suspects are traced and apprehended without delay, the minister added.
Lanjar also instructed that he should be kept informed of the progress of the case on a continuous basis, warning that no negligence in the investigation would be tolerated.
