LARKANA: The residents of Kausar Mill Muhalla, Hyderi Muhalla, Hussaini Muhalla and other adjacent localities, having a population of thousands of people are suffering due to the open negligence and carelessness of the municipal administration.
These localities are located in the midst of the city but the municipal authorities have ignored the citizens and have termed them as second class residents due to political involvement. The residents protested against this ruthless attitude after their sewerage system was completely disrupted.
The complaints of the residents are always thrown in the dust bin causing piles of garbage and uncleanliness of their sewage which causes tremendous environmental pollution in the nearby areas as well. As a result of which dirty hazardous water is coming out on the low roads and the areas are covered with arsenic water due to which the worshipers are facing severe difficulties in reaching the mosque.
In this regard, the residents of the area, Abdul Waheed Abbasi, Abdul Hafeez Attari, Ahmed Raza Abbasi, Faizan Raza, Khadim Ali Abro and others held a protest demonstration and said that there is continuous garbage and drainage in Kausar Mill area, Hyderi area, Hussaini area and other areas located in the middle of Larkana city.
They said that due to the dysfunctional sewage system, the lives of thousands of local residents have become paralyzed. They said that despite repeated complaints to the municipal administration, there is no cleanliness in the areas and constant presence of garbage, dangerous types of germs are being created which have harmed the health of the denizens.
The protestors said that the chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has been elected from NA 200 and has become the federal foreign minister, but unfortunately, cleanliness is not being done in his constituency which is bringing bad name for him and the houses and streets of the likes of people are not being cleaned. They urged him to look into the cleanliness issue personally.
