A Mukhtiarkar of Taluka Mirpurkhas was removed from his post on Wednesday and directed to report to the Board of Revenue during a wide-ranging ongoing inquiry into alleged tampering of land records and other irregularities.
The transfer of the BPS-16 scale officer came in the wake of an ongoing investigation by a fact-finding committee established by the government, which is examining widespread irregularities related to land records, registration processes, sale certificates, and changes in property ownership in the region.
The inquiry was initiated by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah after he took notice of multiple complaints regarding tampering of records of both government and private lands in both Mirpurkhas and Taluka Hussain Bux Marri. Subsequently, he formed an inquiry committee comprising a member of the Board of Revenue along with the commissioners of Mirpurkhas and Nawabshah.
According to sources, the high-level committee has meticulously scrutinized all relevant records and has also collected direct evidence from the affected property owners. It now remains to be seen what findings the fact-finding committee presents to the Sindh Chief Minister for further action.
