The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore and its counterpart in Swat have formalised a significant partnership aimed at advancing veterinary education and research through a comprehensive memorandum of understanding (MoU).
According to the university statement today, the accord establishes a framework for extensive cooperation, focusing on joint academic initiatives, interdisciplinary research projects, and enhanced student training programmes, including internships and practical exposure.
A key component of the agreement involves the mutual sharing of critical resources. Both universities will provide reciprocal access to their research facilities, scientific equipment, clinical centres, farms, and other technical infrastructure to foster a collaborative environment.
The partnership also facilitates the exchange of faculty members for teaching, research, and academic consultation, alongside the sharing of academic materials, publications, and research findings.
Furthermore, the institutions have committed to jointly organising professional development activities such as training programmes, workshops, conferences, and continuing education sessions for faculty and administrative staff.
The MoU was officially signed by UVAS Lahore Vice-Chancellor, Meritorious Prof Dr Muhammad Younus, and UVAS Swat Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Shakeeb Ullah, during a ceremony at the UVAS City Campus. The event was attended by Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science, Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani, along with officials from both organisations.
In a separate development, UVAS Lahore also hosted a delegation of faculty and students from Rashid Latif Medical College for an educational visit.
The visitors received a detailed briefing from Prof Dr Muhammad Younus on the university”s academic, research, and advisory services. A documentary was shown to provide an overview of UVAS”s developmental interventions, student body, and its national and international collaborations.
