Local Mango Season Ending in Japan; Demand for Pakistani Mangoes Rises

Pakistani mangoes have generated significant interest in Japan, a fact highlighted during a recent visit to the ‘Miyazaki City Central Wholesale Market.’ The visit aimed to promote the fruit and included observing the morning mango auction as well as meeting with Mr. Yasuhiro Kawano, President of ‘Miyazaki Chuo Seika Co., Ltd.,’ a prominent regional wholesaler.

Those present at the market were deeply impressed by the unique sweetness and aroma of the Pakistani mangoes. With the local mango season in Miyazaki nearing its end, Pakistani mangoes offer an excellent opportunity to maintain the supply of mangoes in Japan.

Feedback from buyers underscored the significance of direct tastings and fostering importer-wholesaler relationships. Additionally, the importance of ensuring consistent quality, enhanced packaging, and a dependable supply chain was emphasised to boost the presence of Pakistani mangoes in the Japanese market.
