The Punjab Council of the Arts in Rawalpindi organized a “Majlis-e-Musalmah” to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala. Held in the literary ???? (gathering), the purpose of this Majlis was to pay poetic tribute to the sacrifices made in Muharram and to acquaint the youth with the historical significance of this era. Renowned poets participated in the Majlis.
The poets presented passionate verses paying homage to the courage and steadfastness of the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his followers. The Majlis was presided over by Manzoor Naqvi and attended by prominent personalities, including broadcaster Momin Khan Momin, along with writers, intellectuals, and art enthusiasts.
The Director of the Arts Council, Muhammad Shakoor, thanked the participants and highlighted the importance of learning lessons from the events of Karbala. He emphasized the values of tolerance and sacrifice demonstrated by Imam Hussain (AS) and stressed the need to convey these lessons to the new generation. Prayers and Fateha were offered for the martyrs.
The gathering concluded with the distribution of Langar, Niaz, and Sharbat. Nasser Ali Nasser performed the duties of Master of Ceremonies.
