SHIKARPUR:,,, A tribal clash took the life of a man and left his brother injured within the jurisdiction of Garhiyaseen Police Station on Thursday.
According to the area police, an armed clash took place between two rival groups of Marfani community at village Khandd Marfani near Garhiyaseen. As a result of firing with automatic weapons, Raja Marfani was killed on the spot while his brother Mubarak Marfani received serious injuries.
Area police rushed to scene and transported the deceased and injured to the Government Hospital Garhiyaseen for medico-legal formalities.
Later, the injured was sent to a Larkana hospital for further medical treatment due to his serious condition. The cause behind the incident was said to be an ongoing old enmity between two rival Shahbaz Mamnani Marfani and Mubarak Mamnani Marfani groups.
SSP Shikarpur Dr Muhammad Imran Khan took the notice of bloodshe as a police party, led by DSP and SHO Garhiyaseen, raided village villages to arrest the accused involved in the incident.
No FIR could be lodged till late evening. Panic gripped the area soon after the incident.
Meanwhile, a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Hamayoon-Shikarpur section of the National Highway on Thursday.
According to police, a motorcycleist identified as Khursheed Shah collided with a parked truck on the road, resulting in his death on the spot.
