Armed theives shot dead a man in village Seerni Kot within the jurisdiction of Sidhuja police station near Moro town in the wee hours of Monday, police said.
According to the police, armed thieves broke into the house of a poor farmer, Ghous Bakhsh Buriro, held the family hostage and attempted to steal a buffalo. When the house inmates resisted, the theives enraged and opened fire, killing Ghous before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s body was brought to Taluka Hospital Moro for a post-mortem examination, after which it was handed over to his grieving family. The tragic news caused widespread mourning in the village, with scenes of anguish at the victim’s home.
As of the latest reports, an FIR could not be registered, and the police were reportedly pursuing the accused on foot. The incident has raised concerns among residents, who have urged authorities to take swift action to improve security and bring the culprits to justice. The law and order situation in Moro tehsil continues to deteriorate.
