Maryam Nawaz’s tone was regretful, says Marri

KARACHI:The Central Information Secretary of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian and MNA Shazia Atta Marri has said that the tone of PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz against PPP was regretful in her yesterday’s press conference while PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari kept political and democratic tone.

It was very undesireable when PLM-N leadership used “selected” word for Pakistan Peoples Party, she said in a statement. PPP leadership remained in jails for years, sustained exiles and rendered many valuable sacrifices and it is very sad that PPP was taunting with term “selected” by PML-N leaders, she said while holding a joint press conference with Sherry Rehman, Moula Bux Chandio and other PPP leaders at Bilawal House here on Sunday. Marri said that we know how to respond to such taunting words.

She added that PPP was blamed for setting a deal but someone else had benefited through a deal. Marri said that we don’t want to prolong the fights, but we want existence of serious politics in the country.

She maintained that if the ruling government wanted to govern, it should be governed seriously and if the opposition parties wanted to remain in opposition then should play their role seriously. Marri further said that they should not talk to them about to make apologies and we have a long list of apologies. She added that politics should be done with consultation instead of apologies.”

Marri said: “We have our reservations with the person whom PML-N nominated as the Leader of the opposition without consultation. She added that there are people in the PML-N who understand the delicacy of the occasion and PPP will continue the democratic tradition inside and outside the parliament.” She said that people were suffering from increasing inflation and Covid-19 due to government’s lack of seriousness.
