NAUNDERO: Instead of girls, photos of male students have been affixed on the annual examination slips which is a unique drama by the authorities of Shah Abdul Lateef University (SALU) of Khairpur for which the girl students of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Government Degree College, Naundero, have demanded to order thorough probe and delisting of colleges from SALU.
In this connection, the girl students of the college held a large protest demonstration in their college here on Wednesday while holding large banners in their hands and shouting slogans in favour of their just demand where they alleged that this mistake has not only been done with them but other colleges too which are affiliated with SALU which shows that the Controller of Examinations and even the Vice Chancellor are incapable of running the university on modern scientific lines putting future of thousands of students at stake.
They said that millions of rupees are annually recovered from the students as examination and enrollment fees but the data is always fed wrongly which creates a lot of problems for them, which is purely unprecedented corruption.
They said that instead of affixing their pics the SALU authorities have fixed boys pics and many girls pics have been replaced with others which shows that corruption kings are also sitting in SALU which need to be brought to justice. They said their parents have gone to the SALU Examination Controller and others for correction of their slips and certificates but they are demanding extortion apart from running from pillar to post.
Students Khudiyat Khatoon, Alina Jokhio, Seema Shaikh, Wafa Supro, Nabeela Channa and others further alleged that SALU authorities are doing it wilfully to grab money from the girls and students are forced to pay to save their precious years which is unjust.
They demanded correction of all the documents including mark sheets, certificates and examination slips without any charge immediately to end unrest among them or else, they warned, we will be forced to come out on roads and agitate against SALU authorities.
College Principal Faheem Akhtar Ansari, Abid Sikander Khokhar and others said that the SALU VC and Examination Controller deliberately falsified the data in slips, examination results, certificates and mark sheets through corruption to collect double fees which is inhuman and against the basic rights of the students.
They said that if the university management does not correct their attitude, we will forcefully withdraw our affiliation from them which will become embarrassing for them. They have demanded that stern action should be taken against the disqualifying and incompetent SALU VC, Examination Controller and the corrupt staff and the data errors should be corrected without any charge or the affiliation of all the colleges with the university should be transferred to another university without loss of further time.
