Minister directs FDE to withdraw Rs2,500 transport fee in schools, colleges

ISLAMABAD:Minister for Federal Education Rana Tanveer Hussain has directed the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to withdraw its order regarding imposition of Rs2, 500 as new transport fee in schools and colleges.

The Minister stated this in a tweet on Friday. A few days ago, the FDE had imposed up to Rs2, 500 as transport fee on poor students using buses to and from schools and colleges. The school and college management committees have handed over transport fee slips to the students, asking them to pay a minimum of Rs1,500 and a maximum of Rs2,500 from November 1 or stop using buses forthwith.
