Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain on Sunday described the verdict against Faiz Hameed as a landmark decision, asserting that other individuals involved in the misuse of authority will also be brought to justice.
In response to a query while talking to media persons, Hussain also alleged that the agenda of the PTI founder was to weaken the nation and its institutions.
The minister stated that the PML-N led administration believes in empowering people at the grassroots level.
He recalled that the PML-N government, during its previous tenure, conducted local government elections and devolved powers to the elected representatives of local bodies.
Looking ahead, Hussain expressed confidence that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz will secure a majority in the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan general elections.
He also highlighted that party leader Nawaz Sharif has urged for the inclusion of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the National Finance Commission Award.
