Mobile tower torched in Quetta

Unknown assailants torched mobile tower machinery in Goharabad on Thursday, resulting in the suspension of cellular services in the area, officials said.

According to initial reports, unidentified armed men targeted the mobile tower and set its equipment on fire. The incident caused significant damage to mobile communication infrastructure, leaving residents without mobile connectivity.

The authorities are investigating the incident, and security in the area has been heightened to prevent further attacks. No group has claimed responsibility for the act so far.

Efforts are currently underway to restore cellular services in Goharabad.

Incidents of sabotage targeting communication infrastructure are common in parts of Balochistan. Such attacks often disrupt essential services and add to the challenges faced by residents in remote areas. Telecommunications companies have called for enhanced security measures to protect critical infrastructure, as repairs to damaged equipment often take days, leaving communities isolated.
