A delegation of MQM Pakistan, consisting of Sindh Organizing Committee member Shafiq Ahmed, District In-charge Khalid Tabassum, In-charges Afaq Ahmed Khan, Salim Memon, In-charge Legal Aid Committee and former caretaker provincial minister Abdul Qadir Advocate, met today with Assistant Advocate General of Pakistan Sindh High Court Mirpurkhas Sabir Advocate at his office.
During the meeting, they informed him about the problems faced by the people of Mirpurkhas and reiterated the commitment of MQM Pakistan Mirpurkhas District to activate the Legal Aid Committee for the resolution of public and petitioners’ issues.
This committee intends to provide free legal consultation and assistance to oppressed residents and petitioners to help them obtain justice.
It was decided that the Legal Aid Committee will formally file petitions in the judiciary on several key concerns. These include the poor security situation, rising thefts of cars and motorcycles, and dacoities in business areas.
Further legal action will be pursued against heavy fines in HESCO bills, the unjustified suspension of Sui gas in the city, the danger of open gutters, the dilapidated condition of highways, and the general lack of municipal facilities.
During the meeting, the delegation also extended congratulations to Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir on his appointment as the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF).
