LAHORE: Muneeba Ali’s participation in the upcoming second ODI against Bangladesh has been halted due to a grade-I strain in her right quad.
According to a PCB information on Tuesday, this setback occurred during the initial ODI against Bangladesh women at the Shere Bangla Stadium over the weekend.
As per evaluations conducted by the team physio and the PCB medical panel, the 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has been diagnosed with a grade-I strain. Her availability for the third ODI scheduled for November 10 hinges on an assessment of her match fitness.
Notably, Pakistan currently maintains a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series after securing a five-wicket victory over the host team in the first encounter. This ODI series holds significance as part of the ICC Women’s Championship for the 2022-2025 period.
A grade-I strain in right quad has ruled Muneeba Ali out of the second ODI against Bangladesh. The left-handed batter felt discomfort in her right quad in the field during first ODI against Bangladesh women at the Shere Bangla Stadium on Saturday.
The assessment by the team physio and by the PCB medical panel concluded that the 26-year-old wicketkeeper-batter suffered a grade-I strain. Muneeba’s availability for the third ODI on 10 November will be made after assessing her match fitness.
