NAB Balochistan launches anti-corruption awareness drive

As part of its ongoing anti-corruption awareness campaign, NAB Balochistan organized a seminar on ‘Functions of NAB and the Role of Students in the Eradication of Corruption’ at Tameer-e-Nau Public College, Quetta, according to a statement issued by the spokesperson for NAB Balochistan. The primary objective of the seminar was to educate youth about the detrimental effects of corruption and to promote collective efforts toward building a corruption-free society.

Mr. Khuram Shehzad, Deputy Director NAB (B), engaged with students and faculty members, discussing NAB’s vision, mission, and the significant role students can play in eradicating the menace of corruption. He delivered a formal speech and emphasized that students should adopt moral standards whereby abhorrence of corruption becomes an integral part of their personalities. It was also highlighted that the teachings of Islam emphasize self-accountability and do not permit even an iota of dishonesty or corruption. He added that nepotism, influence peddling, bribery, extortion, and favouritism are all forms of corruption, but unfortunately, these practices have become normalized in society. He said the collective efforts of students, as crucial members of society, can play a pivotal role in laying the foundation of a corruption-free society.

On this occasion, Director Colleges Mr. Muhammad Hussain and the Principal of the college, Mr. Abid Maqsood, also shared their views against corruption and appreciated the efforts of NAB Balochistan for its eradication. They assured their full cooperation in NAB Balochistan’s anti-corruption awareness drive. The seminar concluded with the presentation of a shield to the Principal of the college by the Deputy Director NAB, followed by a mutual expression of gratitude and a vote of thanks by both sides.

At the end of the seminar, an awareness walk was also organized in which participants, including NAB officers, the Director Colleges, the Principal, professors, and a large number of students, took part.
