Pakistan’s Eman Naseer and Bangladesh’s Sadia Islam are set to lead their respective U19 sides in a five-match T20 series beginning Wednesday, launching their formal preparations for the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup 2027.
According to official report today, the international contest, to be co-hosted by Nepal and Bangladesh in 2027, has prompted this bilateral series which will be played entirely at the Cox’s Bazar Academy Ground.
All five encounters are scheduled to commence at 12:30 pm PKT, with the toss occurring 30 minutes prior. Cricket enthusiasts can follow the action live via the BCB YouTube channel.
The Pakistan Women’s U19 contingent arrived in Bangladesh in the early hours of Sunday and has since participated in two training sessions at the match venue. The team’s arrival followed a two-week intensive pre-series training camp at Karachi’s Hanif Mohammad High Performance Centre.
For Pakistan, the series marks the U19 international debut for five players: skipper Eman Naseer, Raahima Syed, Aqsa Habib, Ayesha Riaz, and Barirah Saif. The remainder of the squad has previously represented the nation at this level.
Speaking to PCB Digital ahead of the series, Pakistan captain Eman expressed confidence in her team”s composition. “Our squad is quite balanced with good combination of pacers and spinners who bring variety to it,” she said. “The batters have looked in good rhythm throughout the training sessions and we looking forward to the series.”
Regarding her appointment as the team”s leader, Eman stated she enjoys the responsibility. “I like to lead from front. The team management and the players have been really supportive, which has made my job relatively easy but I’m excited to do it at international level and see how it goes.”
