Okara District Police Officer (DPO) Rashid Hidayat dismissed an officer on corruption charges.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shaukat Ali was removed from his post for taking a bribe of Rs. 200,000 from a citizen.
Investigations proved that ASI Shaukat Ali accepted the illegal amount for the release of a relative of a citizen in custody at Shahpur Police Station. Disciplinary action was taken under the departmental accountability process.
