Our overseas Pakistani community holds the key to a prosperous future: Ahsan Iqbal

Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, in a comprehensive address to the Pakistani business community today, emphasized the critical role of the overseas Pakistani community in shaping a prosperous future for their homeland.

Iqbal appealed to business leaders and industrialists to significantly enhance Pakistan’s export capabilities. He highlighted the importance of developing an export-oriented economic structure for achieving sustainable development and national growth.

He advocated for the global promotion of Pakistani innovation, expertise, and products, stressing that overseas Pakistanis can play a vital role in their country’s development. “Let us join hands,” he encouraged, “to build a strong and self-reliant Pakistan.”

Speaking at the 49th annual convention of the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America, Iqbal appealed to overseas Pakistanis to actively participate in Pakistan’s journey towards sustainable development and economic transformation.

Highlighting key sectors for investment, the Minister identified education, healthcare, population welfare, innovation, and technology. He emphasized the need to strengthen partnerships with overseas Pakistani professionals.

Iqbal proposed a revolutionary telemedicine model, inviting overseas Pakistani doctors to offer their expertise. He suggested a panel of ten medical specialists in the US for each of Pakistan’s sixty districts.

Furthermore, Iqbal highlighted the emerging opportunities in artificial intelligence, digital technologies, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability, appealing to the community to engage with these evolving sectors.
