Over two dozen IOK political prisoners shifted to Haryana jail

Srinagar, April 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have shifted over two dozen Kashmiri political prisoners including Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz, and Jamiat Ahle Hadith Vice President, Mushtaq Ahmed Veeri, from Jammu’s Kathua jail to a jail in Haryana, India. Almost thirty inmates have been shifted by the authorities to the Haryana jail.

Dr Abdul Hameed Fayyaz’s son in a social media post wrote that Dr Fayyaz, Mushtaq Veeri and other detainees have been shifted from Kathua jail to some other prison. A top official of prisons’ department of occupied Kashmir told media that some prisoners were shifted from Jammu prison and it was a routine exercise. “I don’t remember the number but yes, some have been shifted outside,” the official said.

Meanwhile, the occupation authorities booked four persons including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat President for Kulgam district, Muhammad Ramzan Sheikh, under black law, Public Safety Act, and lodged them at Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.
