National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq today declared the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China as vital for achieving sustainable peace, development, and prosperity in the region during a high-level meeting in the Chinese capital with Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People’s Congress.
During the discussions, Speaker Sadiq emphasised the need to bolster parliamentary cooperation. He suggested that more robust exchanges between the legislative bodies and the revitalisation of Parliamentary Friendship Groups would significantly deepen bilateral relations and fortify the strategic alliance.
In response, Chairman Zhao acknowledged the Speaker”s sentiments, reaffirming the high value China places on its enduring and amicable relationship with Pakistan. He concurred with the proposal to strengthen inter-parliamentary ties and praised Pakistan”s role in fostering regional peace and stability.
Chairman Zhao also reiterated his nation”s commitment to further solidifying its strategic partnership with Pakistan. The meeting also saw Speaker Sadiq formally extend an invitation to his Chinese counterpart to visit Pakistan.
Accompanying the Speaker was a Pakistani parliamentary delegation, which included Ms. Romina Khurshid Alam, Muhammad Nauman, Ms. Zeeshan Jaffer, and Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.
