Pakistan has called for a significant acceleration of results-driven collaborations to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), stressing the critical need for progress in the final five years leading up to the 2030 deadline. Deputy Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Ambassador Usman Jadoon, made these crucial remarks during the Second Policy Dialogue focused on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
According to a report today, Ambassador Jadoon underscored the indispensable role of solidarity and South-South cooperation initiatives, such as the Global Development Initiative, particularly as global advancements towards the SDGs remain off track. He highlighted that such collaborative efforts are vital to bridge existing development gaps.
Reaffirming his nation”s commitment, the Ambassador articulated Pakistan”s readiness to collaborate closely with China, the Group of Friends, and the wider UN system to achieve tangible outcomes. This collaborative spirit aims to translate shared objectives into practical results on the ground.
Furthermore, Mr. Jadoon indicated Pakistan”s keen interest in engaging with projects specifically addressing climate resilience, food security, and education. He also conveyed the country”s willingness to share its pertinent experience and expertise in these vital sectors with international partners.
