Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, today issued a stark call to the international community, urging it to address what he described as “systemic repression” and widespread human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In a message released to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day, the minister reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the people of the region in what he termed their “just struggle for freedom, dignity and human rights.”
Senator Tarar stated that the populace of the disputed territory continues to endure the denial of fundamental rights and significant abuses. He affirmed the government”s commitment to highlighting their predicament and advocating for a peaceful and just resolution on all international platforms.
He emphasised that the right to self-determination is a non-negotiable, fundamental principle acknowledged by the United Nations. The minister asserted that no form of oppression could extinguish the legitimate aspirations of a people seeking liberty.
The statement included an appeal to the global community to adopt a principled stance, uphold justice, and actively work towards alleviating the suffering of innocent Kashmiris.
Concluding his message, the law minister paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people, reaffirming that Pakistan”s support would persist until “their rights are restored and justice prevails.”
