The separate statements from the nation’s highest offices were issued to mark International Anti-Corruption Day on Tuesday. Both leaders emphasized that the occasion serves as a reminder of the shared responsibility in combating graft, involving not only the government but also civil society, the media, and the general populace.
In his message, President Zardari made a direct appeal to all public servants, professionals, and citizens. He urged them to reaffirm a collective resolve to uphold integrity, framing it as essential for strengthening Pakistan”s institutions and fostering national stability and economic growth.
Prime Minister Sharif detailed the government”s operational focus, stating that tangible measures against financial misconduct are a chief priority. He affirmed that the National Accountability Bureau, alongside other relevant state institutions, is pursuing vigorous and diligent action to enforce accountability across all sectors.
