Pakistan’s Upper House Offers Prayers For Martyred Iranian Supreme Leader

The Senate of Pakistan on Monday offered prayers for the departed soul of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who the House noted was martyred in strikes on Iran a day earlier.

The parliamentary session, held at the Parliament House with Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani presiding, commenced with the offering of Fateha for the late leader.

Taking the floor during the proceedings, Leader of the Opposition Raja Nasir Abbas condemned the attacks on the neighbouring country and the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB), Abbas asserted that Iran possesses the right to its own defence.

The chairman subsequently announced that the upper house was adjourned and would reconvene at 11:30 am the following day.
