Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Darshan Punshi visited the medical center on Monday, where he was welcomed by Medical Superintendent Incharge GMC Hospital Dr. Shahid Iqbal and AMS Admin Dr. Zahid Malik.
and informed that Sukkur Civil Hospital provides the facility of more than 50 free CT scans and MRI tests daily for poor patients, which has significantly increased access to modern diagnostic facilities for the community.
During his visit, Dr. Punshi was given a comprehensive briefing detailing the extensive construction efforts and ongoing initiatives aimed at upgrading the institution. The administration stated that the center has been equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, including new X-ray machines, as well as advanced CT scan and MRI capabilities.
Dr. Zahid Malik confirmed that thanks to the continuous efforts of the administration, over 50 CT scan and MRI examinations are now being provided completely free of charge daily. He stated that this initiative provides immense relief and convenience to patients facing financial difficulties.
Dr. Darshan Punshi praised the performance of the hospital’s leadership, remarking that the new team is dedicated to public service with sincerity and enthusiasm. He expressed hope that this administration would continuously strive to elevate the standard of the medical center, thereby continuing to provide vital care to those in need.
He further emphasized that under its current leadership, the institution’s prospects appear bright, ensuring the continuous provision of improved healthcare to the wider population.
