Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Head of Women’s Cricket, Rafia Haider, recently spoke on the PCB Podcast about the current state and future plans for women’s cricket in Pakistan. The 29-minute discussion, now available online, focuses on Haider’s role and the PCB’s efforts to revitalize the game.
Having assumed the position earlier this year, Haider revealed that the PCB is working with its stakeholders to bring back women’s departmental cricket, aiming to increase the number of tournaments at the domestic level. This initiative highlights the organization’s commitment to strengthening the grassroots level of women’s cricket nationally.
In preparation for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, Haider shared that the PCB is organizing an additional One Day International (ODI) series at home. This series will complement the ongoing skill development and fitness regime in Karachi. This strategy demonstrates the board’s emphasis on thoroughly preparing the squad for international competitions.
