The Prime Minister’s Cricket Talent Hunt Program was launched at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, an exciting initiative aimed at fostering the skills of young players.

Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan, Head of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, graced the occasion as the chief guest and was welcomed by NED University ViceChancellor Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tufail. Rana Mashood emphasized the government’s commitment to advancing youth in diverse fields, including education, arts, and sports.

He highlighted the meritbased selection process of the talent hunt program, overseen by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself. Rana Mashood also lauded the collaboration with Lahore Qalandars, commending CEO Rana Atif and his team for providing worldclass coaching.

The overwhelming response of over 17,000 participants in the Quetta trials showcased Balochistan’s talent. Rana Mashood paid tribute to Karachi’s rich cricketing history, mentioning renowned players like Hanif Mohammad, Sadiq Mohammad, and Javed Miandad. He confirmed over 20,000 registrations nationwide, evaluated purely on merit.

Rana Mashood visited NED University’s BioMechanical Lab and received a briefing on its resources. Cricket stars Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman attended the event, inspiring aspiring players with their presence and encouragement.

Notable attendees included Rana Atif, Bashir Memon, Nihal Hashmi, Raja Ansari, Fahad Shafiq, and Javed Sahib.

The event concluded with Rana Mashood announcing the National Youth Games in August 2025 and extending gratitude for the Sindh government’s cooperation.
