Law enforcement officials in the federal capital have been placed on high alert from today as authorities finalize strict security arrangements for the upcoming public gatherings for the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Christmas celebrations.
The directives were issued during a significant meeting led by DIG Security Muhammad Atique Tahir, which focused on finalizing security protocols for the festive events. The session was attended by AIG Special Branch Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and other senior officers of the Security division, where the overall security situation was discussed in detail.
During the assembly, DIG Tahir instructed officials to implement comprehensive and coordinated security plans at all event venues. He mandated stringent checks at all entry and exit points and called for the utilization of modern security resources to maintain peace.
It was also resolved that additional police personnel would be deployed to sensitive locations throughout the city. Furthermore, the existing surveillance system is slated to be significantly strengthened to ensure all events are held in a peaceful environment.
The DIG underscored that the protection of citizens” lives and property remains the foremost priority for the Islamabad Police, adding a stern warning that any negligence in the execution of these security duties would not be tolerated.
