Political – Sindh Minister Accuses Federal Allies of ‘Conspiracy’, Demands Feeral Clarification

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Sunday called on the federal government to urgently clarify its position after two of its federal ministers and coalition partners, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Mustafa Kamal, engaged in what he described as “propaganda and conspiracies” against the Sindh administration.

Reacting to a recent press conference held by the MQM leaders, Mr Memon asserted that their remarks clearly demonstrated a profound ignorance of constitutional and legal matters. He expressed disappointment that the two leaders had not studied the constitution seriously, suggesting that proper knowledge would have prevented them from making such “irresponsible” declarations.

The senior minister highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that both Siddiqui and Kamal hold positions as federal ministers. He questioned whether their pronouncements reflect the official policy of the federal government, creating ambiguity about the coalition’s stance.

Mr Memon also issued a warning against politicising constitutional offices, stating that the Governor House, a symbol of constitutional authority, should not be converted into a centre for political confrontation or actions aimed at undermining the provincial government.

He concluded by cautioning that it was unwise to create friction between the federation and the provinces, especially at a time when the nation is grappling with significant political and economic challenges. The federal government, he urged, must immediately explain the motives behind these incidents.
