PPP Plans Nationwide Commemorations for Benazir Bhutto’s Death Anniversary

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is set to organise nationwide events to mark the death anniversary of its former leader, Benazir Bhutto, culminating in a major public gathering at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh.

According to the party’s Secretary General, Muhammad Humayun Khan, directives have been issued to all party office-bearers at divisional and district levels to arrange commemorative programmes. He called for the active involvement of party workers and the public in these local events.

The central ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Bhutto family mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. This main event will feature a large public assembly, which will be addressed by the PPP Chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Supporters from various parts of the country are expected to travel to the location in processions to participate in the principal observance.

The Secretary General described Benazir Bhutto’s sacrifices for democracy and public rights as a significant chapter in the nation’s history. He concluded by reaffirming the party’s commitment to continuing its struggle to fulfil what he termed as her “mission”.
