PP’s 17-year rule has proven to be a torment for the people of Karachi: PML-F

Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) has said that the 17-year long rule of the Peoples Party has proven to be a torment for the people of Karachi. The party has announced a peaceful protest in front of the Karachi Press Club on February 8.

This announcement was made on Tuesday by Sardar Abdul Rahim while addressing a public gathering in the Lasi Goth area of Bhittai Colony in the constituency of PS-97.

In his speech, Rahim severely criticized the 17-year tenure of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and termed it a “torment” for the residents of Karachi. He claimed that promises of development are confined to papers only, and compared the current state of the city’s infrastructure to the “ruins of Mohenjo-daro.”

He detailed numerous public grievances, citing completely destroyed sewerage systems, dilapidated roads, and ruined educational institutions in various parts of the city. The PML-F leader also highlighted the lack of basic health facilities and the continuous deprivation of essential utilities like clean drinking water and electricity.

Speaking of the future, Rahim pledged that if PML-F comes to power, resolving public issues would be its top priority. He specifically promised to grant ownership rights to Lasi Goth and other local villages through leases, completely eliminate electricity load shedding, and to eradicate the drug business from the area.

Further criticizing the Peoples Party, he accused the ruling party of being involved in “looting and corruption” instead of solving public problems, and stressed that the people of Sindh are suffering the consequences of this alleged corruption.

A spectacular fireworks display was held before the public gathering. Upon the arrival of Sardar Abdul Rahim and other party officials, they were given a warm welcome, which included showering them with flower petals and adorning them with traditional Ajraks and Sindhi caps. The event also included a cake-cutting ceremony.

Other notable speakers at the event included PML-F District East President Elahyar Baloch, Huzoor Bakhsh, Muhammad Farooq Aziz, PS-97 President Ali Baba Panhwar, Wadera Sikandar Brohi, and Feroz Khan Panhwar.
