Protest against lack of medical facilities in Nasirabad enters 78th day

The Sajag Shehri Ittehad warned on Sunday during a long-running protest in Nasirabad that they would be forced to block the paths of elected officials if their demands for the provision of medical facilities were not met, as their demonstration against the dire health situation entered its 78th consecutive day.

The warning was issued during a protest march and sit-in organized by the Sajag Shehri Ittehad Nasirabad in the village of Khan Jatoi. The group is continuing its peaceful movement against alleged corruption in the construction of the tehsil hospital.

The protesters are also demanding an end to the chronic shortage of medicines, doctors, and other basic treatment services at the local rural health center, issues they claim are affecting hundreds of thousands of residents across the tehsil.

Addressing the gathering, alliance president Muhammad Rafi Laghari, along with other speakers Sufi Ghaffar Channo, Asif Kathio, and Ikhtiar Ali Ganwas, condemned the complete indifference of local authorities.

They accused the constituency’s elected representatives, the health department, the DC, 11 local councilors, and the town chairman of ignoring the public’s problems and sufferings.

The protest leaders stated that the continued irresponsibility of the officials is proof that they have no intention of seeking public support in the future, and the people of Nasirabad will be forced to take more drastic action if the ground realities are not acknowledged.
