Protest for Basic Health Facilities in Nasirabad Enters 27th Day

Citizens’ protest demanding basic health facilities in Nasirabad continued for the 27th consecutive day on Thursday, with organizers accusing provincial and district officials of deliberate inaction despite growing public pressure.

The Awake Citizens Alliance continued its long-standing protest by holding a rally from Noonari Mohalla, which culminated in a sit-in. The demonstration was led by prominent figures including the alliance’s president Comrade Muhammad Rafi Laghari, Senior Vice President Sufi Ghaffar Channa, Comrade Asif Katheo, Muhammad Tigar, Mansoor Soomro, and Comrade Ashiq Noonari.

The movement’s core demands include the immediate completion of the Taluka Hospital with modern equipment, addressing the persistent shortage of doctors and medicines at the local Rural Health Center, and ensuring the government’s mobile hospital has comprehensive outreach to every village in the taluka.

Addressing the participants, speakers alleged that the Sindh government, the Health Department, and the Qambar Shahdadkot district administration are unwilling to take action against those depriving the public of medical services, and claimed that substantial evidence of negligence exists.

The alliance leaders issued a stern warning, declaring that their movement will not be called off due to the influence or interference of any influential local figure. They reiterated their commitment to continue the protest until their demands are fully met.

Organizers have announced that the protest will continue, and on the 28th day, another protest demonstration will be launched from Chanjanji Shakh.
