Protesters in Thatta staged a demonstration against the arrest of Mirpur Sakro Town Committee Chairman Iqbal Khaskheli, journalist Yusuf Shaheen, and three others, leading to the closure of the highway linking Karachi to Keti Bandar.
The protest took place at Gharo Golai, attracting a large number of participants, including women. Protesters chanted slogans against the police, claiming that Iqbal Khaskheli and his associates were being targeted for political revenge.
Makli police have transferred the detainees to an undisclosed location. Iqbal Khaskheli had returned to Thatta after participating in and addressing a sit-in at Babbarlo Bypass. Following pre-arrest bail in the cases, he arrived at the Makli police line, where he and his associates were subsequently arrested by the police.
