PSL Begins Asset Valuation With EY MENA

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is undertaking a comprehensive evaluation of its commercial assets, aiming for transparency and sustainable expansion. The league has hired Ernst and Young (EY MENA) to conduct the valuation after a public tender process.

The five-week assessment, beginning this month, involves stakeholder engagement, market analysis, benchmarking, and forecasting. EY MENA will evaluate the fair market value of existing franchises, commercial rights (including media, live streaming, and in-stadia sponsorships), title sponsorship rights, and potential new teams. This aligns with the existing franchise agreements, which are nearing expiration, and will establish renewal fees.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer stated that this independent valuation by a global leader like EY MENA ensures transparency and fairness. He believes it will provide current and potential stakeholders with confidence in the league”s growth and sustainability. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will use the report to make strategic decisions about the league”s future.

The PSL remains a vital part of Pakistan”s sports scene, fostering cricketing excellence, commercial achievements, and international recognition. The upcoming renewal cycle offers increased prospects for investors, fans, and players.
