Sindh’s Local Government Minister, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, has alleged that the PTI attempted to create a “May 9-like incident” in Karachi as part of a conspiracy. He claimed the provincial government successfully thwarted the effort through its “wisdom and timely action” after the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was given full protocol during a recent visit to Sindh.
The minister expressed these views while addressing the media at a ceremony for a memorandum of understanding signed between Korangi Town Municipal Corporation (TMC) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), according to a statement on Tuesday. He stated that the agreement is expected to benefit millions of residents.
Highlighting the attendance of representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami, JUI, MQM, and other political organisations, Mr Shah described their participation as a positive development. He stressed the necessity for all political and religious parties to work in unison for the improvement of Karachi.
In his remarks on civic development, the minister confirmed that numerous projects are being initiated throughout Karachi to enhance its infrastructure. He mentioned that directives have been issued for the swift completion of these works, which he said are being personally supervised by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The minister also pointed out the Sindh government”s financial support for healthcare, noting that it provides annual grants valued at billions of rupees to Indus Hospital, from which the people of Korangi are primary beneficiaries.
