The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan on denounced a series of police crackdowns on the residences of its senior leadership, labelling the actions as the worst example of state oppression and an act of political retribution.
In a statement, a party spokesman confirmed the homes of PTI’s provincial President, Dawood Shah Kakar; provincial senior vice president, Syed Sadiq Agha; district President, Zain-ul-Abideen Khilji; and Senior Vice President, Bilal Achakzai, were among those targeted. The operation also extended to the homes of other party leaders and workers.
The party representative asserted that such measures, viewed as attempts to intimidate the opposition, were destined to fail. ‘These attempts to harass opposition leadership and workers under political vengeance have not succeeded before, nor will they succeed in the future,’ the statement declared.
The spokesman further remarked that such cheap tactics would neither suppress the resolve of the PTI’s leadership and members nor silence what the party termed the voice of truth.
Concluding the statement, the organisation demanded an immediate official explanation for what it called an illegal action and called for a halt to the cycle of political vengeance.
