PTI Sindh Leaders Urge UN Action on Kashmir, Citing Human Rights Violations

The Sindh leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday called upon the United Nations to ensure the immediate and effective implementation of its resolutions regarding Kashmir, describing the ongoing situation in the region as a clear violation of the UN Charter.

In a joint statement issued on Kashmir Solidarity Day, the political figures contended that the actions of the Modi government and its “blatant violations of human rights pose serious questions for the global conscience”.

The leaders, including PTI Sindh President Haleem Adil Sheikh, stated that February 5 serves as a global reminder of the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. They described Kashmir as Pakistan’s “lifeline” and asserted that it would remain so.

The statement accused India of decades of oppression, brutality, and what the leaders termed “state-sponsored terrorism,” maintaining that force could never silence the voice of the Kashmiri people.

The party officials also praised PTI Chairman Imran Khan for what they described as his bold and courageous championship of the Kashmiri cause on the international stage, which they said ensured the issue received global attention.

Concluding their remarks, the leaders-which also included Rizwan Niazi, Raja Azhar, and Advocate Hasnain Ali Chauhan among others-said Kashmir Solidarity Day is a time to remember the sacrifices of martyrs and to renew a commitment to practical solidarity with the region’s freedom movement.
